Wooden Boat Series

  • The Camden Yacht Club

Located at the entrance to Camden's inner harbor on the western side of Penobscot Bay, Camden Yacht Club (CYC) is a vibrant, family oriented club which has served the boating community since 1906. CYC operates seasonally from May through October and is a well-known destination for down east cruisers.

Our junior program, called the Camden Area Youth Seamanship Program (CAYSP), has produced many fine racers who have gone on to success in college sailing and beyond.

Launch service is available to members and guests throughout the season. For more information, please go to our Facilities and/or Contacts page.

The 2015 Wooden Boat Series will be held July 30- August 1. The series includes the Castine Classic Yacht Race on Thursday, the Camden Classic Yacht Regatta (the feeder race from Camden to Brooklin) on Friday, and the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta on Saturday. The fleet of classic wood racing and cruising boats is impressive and is the largest fleet to race out of Camden Harbor every summer.  The ERR fleet often includes over 90 boats varying in size from 25’ to 90’ with no two designs being the same.

This year is the 28th annual Camden Classic Yacht Regatta. To register please click on: Information and entry forms to download and print the Notice of Race and the entry form. The forms can also be found at: Eggemoggin Reach Regatta / How To Enter (scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the Camden links).

On Friday morning July 31st, prior to the race, a breakfast buffet will be available from 8:00 to 9:30 AM at Camden Yacht Club. The price for the breakfast is $12.50 per person and reservations should be made via your race registration form. If you are a non-racer but would like to come to the breakfast, please contact Elaine Booker at the CYC office, 207-236-7033, cyc@camdenyachtclub.org.

For mooring or dockage, please contact Barb Goos at the CYC Dockmaster’s office: docks@camdenyachtclub.org or 236-3014.
