This year the Camden Area Youth Seamanship Program, CAYSP, will host the 2019 US Sailing Regional Junior Olympics. This is a large regatta open to sailors ages 10–18. It is sailed in one-design boats ~ the Optimists, 420s, or lasers ~ and is for sailors just learning to race as well as seasoned racers. It is a two-day event and will be hosted in coordination with Lyman-Morse. Click here to register!
Camden Area Youth Seamanship Program: Sailing classes have been an important part of the Camden Yacht Club since 1951. We have grown from 5 turnabouts and one class per day to a fleet of 45 boats (Optimists, 420’s and/or Mercuries) and 8 different sailing/boating class levels.
Cruising and Sailing: For many sailors, Downeast Maine is the ultimate cruising destination and the reason why many of CYC’s members live in Maine. Camden Harbor has long been a starting or stopping point for cruising the many quiet coves, harbors, and islands of Penobscot Bay and points east.
Racing: The Camden Yacht Club organizes and participates in a series of Regattas, such as the Camden Invitational Regatta, Wooden Boat Series, King of Spain races, Codger Cup, CYC Solo Challenge, and a few more.
Sunset Seminars: These talks are usually held on Wednesdays late June through August, from 7:00–8:30 pm (please check the schedule), and are free of charge and open to the public. Donations at the door are gratefully accepted to benefit the non-profit Camden Area Youth Seamanship Program (CAYSP). Click here for the upcoming schedule of Sunset Seminars.
Members Events: In addition, CYC organizes regular events, cocktail parties, brunches, barbecues, cruises, and more.
